About Me
Hi! My name is Chandler Hefter and I am a senior at Texas Christian University studying Early Childhood Education with the dream of becoming an elementary school teacher. Before moving to Fort Worth for school four years ago, I originally called Austin, Texas home where I lived with my twin brother, mom, dad and two dogs. I LOVE spending time with my family whenever I can! I also enjoy TCU football, traveling, being outside, yoga/pilates and Starbucks.
This semester I am student teaching in a first grade classroom at The Academy at Nola Dunn in Burleson, Texas. I feel so fortunate to be learning at such an amazing school and under the most incredible mentor teacher. My first graders have stolen my heart already! With mixed emotions, I will be leaving my students behind for the month of February to teach at an international school in Malmö, Sweden. I am SO excited and counting down the days until we leave! While abroad, my friends and I will also have the opportunity to travel around Europe! We will be visiting Copenhagen, Denmark, Berlin, Germany, Paris, France, Geneva, Switzerland, Prague, Czech Republic and Stockholm, Sweden. I absolutely love traveling and can't wait to explore these new cities with two of my best friends by my side.
After graduation in May, I will immediately begin the Accelerated Masters in Education Program at TCU with a focus on Language and Literacy Instruction. I LOVE to learn and hope to share all my experiences from my study abroad journey with my future students! Thanks for reading :)
